Braking System

 

Rotary Slip Brake – Design, FEA Analysis & Refinement.

 

The design of a proposed rotary slip brake assembly, which came about through an offshore survey and the use of existing fabrication drawings. The design was further developed and refined using FEA analysis software with results supplied in a design report. The computer model in this instance allowed for these refinements to be made quickly and further analysis to be carried out in a cost effective manner.

 

The computer model was also used for visualisation and fabrication / assembly drawing purposes.
