Riser Pull-In Frame and Bend Restrictor - Survey, Design & Fabrication

Requirements for a damaged riser umbilical to be pulled in for repair initiated the design for a suitable support frame and bend restrictor. A detailed survey of the area local to the riser was carried out and along with existing rig drawings the information was put into a computer model.

This model was then used to identify the best route for the bend restrictor frame through the existing rig structure to minimise any modifications. The completed model was also used to create sequence drawings for the riser pull in operation.
