Jack Up Rig

MSD Design Ltd (Aberdeen Scotland) were contracted to design, manufacture and install heat shielding on the new Rowan Viking Rig. Rig programme was extraordinarily tight with the unit arriving on the Firth of Tay just after New Years Day 2011.

MSD Design Ltd safely and successfully installed the complete heat shielding package on schedule and on budget by the end of March. Areas which were clad included the entire derrick as well as a couple of the crane rooster tails and an exposed lifeboat.

MSD Design Ltd are proud of their safety record during both manufacture and installation and indeed all tasks, including a tandem quayside crane lift for the 34 tonne crown block structure, were completed without incident.
